[possible yuri] New read: 《月与二分之一恋人》

Note: i’m writing this because i need to brush up my writing skills. Please do not expect a good read here.

I like to read stories that may contain different themes from the more common ones that I encounter most of the time. The following is one of such manhua that i found on 腾讯动漫. If you are interested in it, it can be found here. It reminds me of 《大兴国记之假凤虚凰》 which contains gender reversal in both main characters (i.e. the seemingly male character is actually female and the seemingly female character is actually male). The following story has a similar plot but it is situated in the modern era.

The story starts with an indication of a special human race who needs to wary of the moonlight ( spoiler: moonlight causes their physical appearance to change)

Our male main character belongs to this group of special human race. One evening after school he walks into the female washroom ( because the gents was under maintenance. Hmm what are the odds?) and sees our female main character there.

I am sure he deserves a beating in that situation.

With that exchange over there, they have come to realise that they belong to the same group of the human race! (So predictable, isn’t it?) We see them exposing themselves to moonlight, and voila!

That kinda sets up the story. Life goes on in the in between chapters, and our author brought the two of them together again ( MMC is the landlord of the place FMC is trying to rent!)

What an excuse to put the two of them in the same house?

I suppose this is a straight story afterall isn’t it? In between we have a dude pursuing the female form of the MMC, and we have plenty of sequences of indication of possible straight relationship between MMC and FMC.

Hmmm … obvious fan service. They are not trying to do anything +18 here.

There are also certain questions that i ponder about, i.e. does it mean this race is sterile since they change their genders every evening? The author brings us good news, the female does not change gender during that time of the month.

Benefit for the ladies maybe? - You don’t switch gender during your period!

And this brings a change of behaviour to FMC, and possible yuri subplot in the story ( Don’t get your hopes up high though, i highly believe that this is a yuri bait!)

Hmm … FMC getting proactive, even though she may not be intentional here

Then more … fanservice … yuri bait maybe?

Must be great to use being drunk as an excuse to commit crimes!

Then we have the lady starting all the action …

Then indicating the “dude” feeling odd to the situation …

Finally FMC drops the bomb and asked the MMC to remain female and be her girlfriend. Hopefully it’s going to be heading the yuri direction and not stay as a yuri bait potential.

I have left a lot of the story out in between to make sure that i do not reveal too many spoilers in between.

Currently, the manhua is still ongoing and now at chapter 32. I’m crossing my fingers and enjoying the yuri / yuri baits and the comedy while it last.
